Wuhan's GDP rise by 5.6% in 2025
In 2025, Wuhan's gross domestic product (GDP) reached 2.2147 trillion yuan, representing a year-on-year growth of 5.6 percent, according to data released on January 28, 2026 by the city's statistical authorities.
Over the past year, Wuhan's industrial production has grown relatively rapidly, with high-tech manufacturing playing a leading role. The added value of Wuhan's large high-tech manufacturing enterprises increased by 16.6 percent year-on-year, accounting for 26.2 percent of that of the city's large industrial enterprises. Its contribution to the growth of the latter reached 58.2 percent. On the product side, the production of 3D printers, new energy vehicles and industrial robots increased by 86.5 percent, 40.2 percent and 21.5 percent respectively.
Looking back, Wuhan's economy has shown a strong recovery. GDP for the previous four years was as follows: 1.7716 trillion yuan in 2021, 1.8866 trillion in 2022, 2.0011 trillion yuan in 2023 and 2.1106 trillion yuan in 2024, with growth rates of 12.2 percent, 4.0 percent, 5.7 percent and 5.2 percent respectively.
